Seeds of Wisdom; Lotus & Eagle - personal meditation rattle & talking stick

A lightning storm on a full moon night, inspired the creation of a series of Native American style specially decorated sticks from artist Tree. Her adaptation of Native style here, combined with Hindu influences, has created a unique work of art to be used.

Available Qty 1 OOAK , $75.00 USA only single item shipping $8.00 (More images below)

10" long, pod has a 4" diameter
Rattle sound is created from actual round seeds still inside the pod

List of Materials: Willow wood, lotus seed pod, powdered hematite stone, leather, blond raccoon fur, bear bone, moss agate stone bead, artificial sinew coated with natural beeswax. (Red pencil is shown for size comparison.)

This item is, in effect, a worked spell waiting for the right person. Each of the materials used were gathered for the combined purpose of not just raising a higher spiritual energy, but to help the energy be used in a balanced manner. A path of personal discovery can be revealed, if the owner were to research the metaphysical symbolism of each of the materials used in making this rattle. The artist has included some specific information here. All natural materials have been cleaned and sterilized for safety and archival quality.

At the top there is a rim of powdered hematite stone around the dried lotus flower pod. At the attachment point is a medicine bundle made of blonde raccoon fur and an natural ear bone from a bear, topped with a round moss agate bead. Buckskin leather lacing is there to remind of the gentle nature of deer. Raccoon totem animal info, click here.
*The bear that offered the bone had met its end at the paw of another bear. This can be an important point to discovery, and should be pondered or meditated upon by the owner of the rattle. A male grizzly bear had moved into the territory of a small female cinnamon (red/brown not black) brown bear. The battle between the two took place in an old upper Pacific Northwestern cemetery, near the rainforest. Also, it was a Memorial Day when I discovered the remains of the bear and removed them, (to the relief of the cemetery workers). Perhaps, then, the ear bone could be seen as a reminder to listen to the advise of our ancestors and the instincts given to us by the Earth.

The handle portion is made from weeping willow that was felled by a lightning storm that struck on a full moon night. It has been hand worked to represent the energy of the eagle who soars with the highest winds to carry prayers to the Great Spirit, and weeps not at its own folly. Again, the gentle nature of deer is here to balance the outward fierceness of eagle and internal earthy nature of bear, to keep the energy on a spiritual rather than instinctual path. The surface of the handle is hand colored and coated with environmentally friendly varnish.
